Christmas Wreaths

This is another make from the 2021 Christmas season that I revisited this year. I’ll include a picture of how I styled it last year at Disneyland…

…as well as how I styled it this year, to work for a “Santa Baby” themed day on an Instagram challenge.

I thought the buttons and pairing it with a menswear inspired shoe and a wide black belt would work to evoke Santa’s iconic red suit. I don’t know if it’s obvious, but I was happy with the finished look!

The red-with-black-accents color story makes it a pretty versatile dress, or as much as a dress made from a Christmas print can be!

I used a fabric from Cloud 9, from the same collection as the teal green fabric with vintage ornaments I shared a few posts back.

The pattern is B6412 with my standard modifications: a raised neckline, piping on the neckline and sleeve, a shortened sleeve, and a full gathered skirt instead of the one the pattern came with.

This wasn’t a dress I was especially excited about when I first made it, but revisiting it this year gave me a new appreciate for it, and I look forward to pulling it out of my closet again next Christmas!
