Pink Pencil Peggy

This was a last-minute addition to my Resort-O-Rama wardrobe!

It’s a dress I’d been planning on making, so I had all of the supplies ready, but when I realized during our first day at the convention that I’d have a break the following day, I decided that was the perfect opportunity for a costume change, so I ran home and stayed up until 1am sewing this.

I used the Charm Patterns Peggy Bodice (available on Patreon) for the bodice, and used the pencil skirt from Vogue V1176, since I’d recently worked with it and knew it wouldn’t require any fit adjustments.

I flatlined the skirt in cotton, and lined the bodice in cotton. In retrospect, flannel wasn’t the right material for a pencil skirt; it wrinkled like crazy after sitting in it! Oh well, you live and learn.

I think the dress is cute, but I’m unlikely to wear it again due to the wrinkling. I’ll definitely repeat this skirt and bodice combo though, I think they work well together to give a late fifties/ sixties silhouette!
