A Very Pinup Christmas!

Are you interested in adding a vintage twist to your Christmas look? Maybe you’ve never dressed pinup before and are looking to dip your toe in, or maybe you’re a vintage enthusiast who wants to add some more festive touches to your wardrobe. In any case, I’ve rounded up some of my favorite kitschy, vintage-inspired retro accessories for this holiday season!

This red-and-green fascinator is undeniably Christmassy, and would be the perfect touch to any festive outfit! I can see it reading as kitschy or glam, depending on what outfit you pair it with. It’s also available in solid colors (like red, green, champagne, blush…) if you want a slightly more subtle look. Adding a headpiece is the perfect way to elevate your look, and this would be a great choice!

This hot cocoa purse definitely reads more kitsch than true-vintage, but if that’s your style (you know it’s mine!), this is such an adorable piece that will give any holiday ensemble a big dose of personality! I love novelty bags for holidays, and this one is definitely on my wish list!

I own this faux-fur muff, and let me tell you, do not underestimate this accessory! They’re incredibly warm and cozy, and may be enough in moderately cold weather (especially if you just need to get from a car to a venue) to let you show off your outfit and avoid covering it with a coat. The beige color way is actually a nice creamy ivory that goes with tons. It’s lined in faux-fur as well, and will keep your hands and wrists nice and toasty. I’m bringing muffs back, starting with this one!

Speaking of faux fur, I bought this scarf to go with my muff, and the color is nearly identical. It’s got a large slash for you to pull one end through, which means it stays secure. More glam than your favorite knit scarf, but still versatile enough to go with lots of outfits, this faux fur scarf is a must-have to elevate your holiday looks as far as I’m concerned!

This Gingerbread House purse by Betsey Johnson is another piece I own! I have used this so many times this season— I can unironically say it actually goes with a ton! Because it’s a taupe-brown, it is neutral enough to work with a lot of colors, and the red and pink accents tie in with a lot of holiday color schemes. It’s got a fairly generous interior, although I will say, it can be tricky getting your hand in and out of the top!

And another item I own! I actually have this set in the emerald green pictured above and fuchsia; it’s available in a ton of colors. It’s got a big impact and lots of sparkle to dress up any outfit. I like the length of the necklace, too— it’s just long enough to brush the collarbone, which I think is a flattering length on most people.

I own this brooch in green, but I’m eyeing the red and clear version as well! It’s a beautiful, classic brooch that will add a touch of elegance to anything you pair it with. I wear mine on a sweater, but I love the idea of putting it on that faux fur scarf I mentioned above! It’s glam without being large enough to read as tacky, and I love that I can pair it with kitschy looks and elegant ones alike. If you’re not a brooch wearer, what are you waiting for? They are the perfect finishing touch and instantly make any ensemble look more pulled together and thoughtful.

Don’t have a holiday outfit planned yet? Add this festive red bow belt to your favorite little black dress, and you are all set! It’s on an elastic base which means it should be comfy even if you have an extra serving of pumpkin pie, and would look fantastic with any neutral, or even on top of green if you’re feeling especially holly-jolly!

Bows not your thing? This jeweled belt comes in some really great colors (including black!) and would instantly dress up anything you wear it over! I’m eyeing several of the colors for my accessory collection.

Finally, a good pair of tights is a game-changer for wearing dresses and skirts during the colder months! Try a fun color if you’re going for a more novelty look, but a great nude works with anything you pair it with! I love wearing tights in the winter and being able to continue rocking some of my favorite dresses even when it’s nippy out.
