Can Halloween Fabric Work Beyond Halloween?

I told you I was having a love affair with this aqua cat fabric from JoAnn Fabrics! If you haven’t seen the skirt and bolero I made from it earlier this season, check out my post about that outfit here!

This was my third garment from this fabric. I used the Charm Patterns Lamour pattern using self drafted cap sleeves, and I also removed the seam and pleat at the center front. I made the sweetheart neckline a bit more pronounced, and then just used a basic gathered skirt on it.

I decided to play up the white accents in the fabric with my accessories to see if I could make it look less “Halloween”— it’s less Halloween, but I still don’t know if I’ll be able to get away with wearing it year round! My husband thinks it still looks a bit too seasonal. I love black cats all year round, but I have to say that this kitschy print does look a little spooky! I guess we’ll see if I’m craving this dress come next Spring and Summer!
