Minnie Mouse, but Make it Pinup

Here I am at home for another Dapper Day… But I decided to play along anyway!

I figured I must have something in my closet suitable for a Disneybound that I hadn’t styled in that way before now, and this is what I came up with! It felt good channeling the iconic Minnie Mouse— I’d like to think that if she were going for a pinup look, she might wear something similar!

The pattern is a mashup of the Liz Dress bodice and the Lamour Dress sarong skirt, both part of the Charm Patterns line. I used silk taffetas from Silk Baron for the body and the red contrast on the bust cups/ ruffle facing.

I made this dress awhile ago, but it had a nasty habit of busting every zip I put it in, so this time around I used a comically large invisible zip, and that sucker is staying put.

I’m hoping to get back to Disneyland for Dapper Day in the future, but until then, I’ll enjoy it from a distance. I love that with the advent of social media, we’re able to see everyone’s looks and participate in the event vicariously.
